How do I get the best possible ArtsÝ print?
Please remember that depending on the product you order, ArtsÝ. may be enlarging your photo up to 10 times it's original size. It's important to supply us with the best original possible. Here are some tips from the Digipros at ArtsÝ:
If your picture is out of focus or grainy, we cannot improve it.
Do not send photo copies - send actual photographs only.
Make sure the primary subject (the person, animal, place or thing) takes up at least 1/2 or more of the picture (a good rule of thumb is that a face should be the size of a quarter on your print).
Please do not cut your photograph.
Don't write on the front or back of the photo.
Bigger is better! Clear photos that are at least 3 1/2 x 5 and larger will reproduce best.
If you are sending an heirloom or one-of-a-kind photo, you should have a local photo lab make a high quality glossy print copy to send to us.
If you have a slide, send it to a professional photo lab and have a high quality 5x7 or larger glossy print made to send to us.
We cannot be responsible for prints damaged or lost by the shipper.
Sizing information: In general, photos can be cropped to fit any size print. Cropping of your image may be necessary to fit a particular canvas size. Please state any special cropping instructions when you place your order. Unless you have specifically requested otherwise, ArtsY. Digipros will use their skill and judgment in selecting the best cropping for your image.

What is the difference in cost on shipping canvas pieces?
If your order included a stretched canvas larger that 11x14, the shipping cost can be quite high. If you would like your order un-stretched (cannot not be a gallery wrap order) please indicate on the comments section of your order form. We will then ship your order unassembled in a poster tube, which is usually less costly.

What is a giclee?
The Definition :
Giclee (zhee-klay) - The French word "giclée" is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. The word may have been derived from the French verb "gicler" meaning "to squirt". The Term : The term "giclee print" connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.
The Process :
Giclee prints are created typically using professional 8-Color to 12-Color ink-jet printers. These modern technology printers are capable of producing incredibly detailed prints for both the fine art and photographic markets.
The Advantages :
Giclee prints are advantageous to artists who do not find it feasible to mass produce their work, but want to reproduce their art as needed, or on-demand. Once an image is digitally archived, additional reproductions can be made with minimal effort and reasonable cost. The prohibitive up-front cost of mass production for an edition is eliminated. Archived files will not deteriorate in quality as negatives and film inherently do. Another tremendous advantage of giclee printing is that digital images can be reproduced to almost any size and onto various media, giving the artist the ability to customize prints for a specific client.
The Quality :
The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.

What is the difference between a Standard Wrap and a Gallery Wrap?
Gallery Wrapped canvas offers an attractive alternative to framing. The image is extended on the canvas to wrap around the edges of an inner wooden frame and is secured by staples on the back. Gallery wrap prints are usually hung against the wall.
Standard Wrap canvases are secured with staples on the sides of the frame. Having a canvas that is printed with a standard wrap is usually framed.
Take a look at the images below to see the difference.
